Juan’s Little Joys | June 2025 | Coconut, Cooking & Clean Floors

Some months arrive with a bang. June doesn’t. It slides in slowly, like rain you didn’t notice until your sleeves are already damp.

It’s that midpoint between “I’m still figuring it out” and “I should be further along.” Which is exactly why it’s the best time to find your footing again; through small comforts, familiar rituals, and pockets of calm.

Here’s where you might find it this week:

  • Adding coconut oil to damp skin after shower. If you have long hair you can add coconut oil to it, too and braid it or wrap it in an old shirt. It’s about slowing down to care for yourself like your mom would.
  • Catching the morning sun before your screen lights up. Five minutes. Just you and the stillness. Coffee optional. Gratitude required.
  • Resetting a space to your favorite playlist. Not exactly glamorous, but deeply satisfying. The scent of lavender scented surface cleaner, that last swipe of the mop or vacuum; sometimes that’s all it takes to reset your mood.
  • Using authentic Italian tomato on your dish. Whether you’re cooking marinara sauce from scratch or adding texture to your dish, that authentic aroma and taste is enough to make your kitchen feel like a hug.
  • Sending a voice note to a friend you miss. Doesn’t have to be profound. Just a “naalala kita” (just thought of you) can go a long way for you and them.

The best part? You don’t need to earn these joys. You just need to notice them.

EDITOR’S PICKS

Organic Coconut Oil

Why we love it:
This vanity staple does everything from deep-conditioning your scalp to moisturizing elbows and knees. The scent alone feels like a mini staycation to the tropics. Add a little to your routine and feel instantly softer (in more ways than one).

Mutti Whole Peeled Tomato

Why we love it:
Made with 100% Italian tomatoes, these peeled beauties bring out a rich, natural sweetness in sauces and stews. It’s the secret to that homemade lasagna vibe, or even when you’re just making eggs and soup with a little flair.

Pine Sol Original

Why we love it:
Old-school linis (clean) in a bottle. The pine scent is unmistakably nostalgic, like Saturday chores with the windows open and singing in the background. One wipe and your house smells clean and cared for.
